Immigration Physical Exam Requirements
Blood Test Requirements for Adults
1. QuantiFERON Test: A blood draw to test for tuberculosis (TB) for everyone >2yrs old. Valid if done within the last 1 year. If the result is positive, a chest X-ray is necessary.
- All applicants ≥2 years of age must have an interferon-gamma release assay (IGRA)
2. Syphilis Testing - RPR for syphilis - A blood draw to test for syphilis. Required only for age of 18 - 44 years.
3. Gonorrhea Testing: A urine NAA test to detect gonorrhea. Required only for age of 18 - 24 years.
If you do have insurance, you can check with your primary care physician’s office to see if they’ll be willing to perform them as part of your annual physical and they may be covered by insurance.
If you do not have insurance, our office can help you set up all the necessary tests. Please note that the cost of these tests is separate from the examination fees. To schedule your tests, text us at 512-850-5565. You will need to obtain the test report before scheduling your medical examination.
Immunization Requirements for Adults
If you have had vaccinations but don’t have those vaccination records, as per CDC guidelines, laboratory evidence of immunity is acceptable for MMR, VZV, Hep A, Hep B, and Polio. You must schedule a blood test and submit the report before the medical examination.
1. Measles, Mumps, Rubella Vaccine (MMR): Required vaccination for people born in the year 1957 or later.
2. Tetanus/Diphtheria Vaccine (Tdap): Effective for 10 years.
3. Varicella (Chicken Pox) Vaccine: Required unless you have a history of varicella, in which case you must prove immunity through a blood test.
4. Hepatitis A: Required up to the age of 17 years.
5. Hepatitis B: Required up to the age of 59 years.
6. COVID-19 Vaccine: Please note, as per USCIS, everyone needs the COVID-19 vaccine in 2023/2024, with no exceptions. More info
7. Pneumonia Vaccine: Required for 65 yrs and above
8. Influenza (Flu) Vaccine: Required if your medical exam occurs during the flu season (October 1 – March 31).
9. Meningococcal (MenACWY): for age of 11-17 yrs - 2 doses.

To schedule blood tests for vaccination immunity/titers, please text our office at 512-850-5565. These tests must be completed before you can schedule your medical examination.
Cost of the exam
The Cost of the exam is $200. This only includes cost of basic immigration medical physical examination with certified and sealed I-693 form.

The appointment for the examination will be scheduled only after all blood and vaccination reports have been verified.
After The Exam
After completing the examination, Dr. Rao will fill out, sign, and seal the I-693 Form, along with any supporting documents, in an envelope labeled "DO NOT OPEN." You must then submit this sealed envelope to USCIS as instructed in the Form I-693 guidelines.
COMPLETE YOUR FORMS ONLINE TO SAVE TIME
It is a good idea to take the initiative and complete the application form I-693 (Part 1) before your appointment. Do not sign or date the form until the doctor instructs you to do so. At the end of the exam, Dr. Rao will complete his portion of the form.
